Still Life
While we very rarely take the time to observe everyday objects in themselves, they nevertheless have a life of their own. In these Still Life paintings, Ms. Cicchelli takes the guesswork out of figuring out what happens when we're not around: she simply observes.
As a quite, careful visitor, she absorbs and comments on the simplicity of the objects we take for granted, bringing them into new light. The chairs on the porch; the rockers of Mackinac Island's Grand Hotel; the lakehouse cabin are all examples of things that often go unnoticed, but need not be without comment.
